Suction plate nylon diaphragm
Suction plates, in contrast to suction cups, offer the advantage of an extensive extraction of the soil solution. The level from which the percolate is obtained is precisely defined and the sample does not originate from a single point measurement only.
The plates are installed laterally from an excavation point and thus remove the soil solution from the overlying undisturbed soil area. The surface of the suction plate consists of a nylon film with a pore size of 0.45 µm. This is supported by an underlying layer of hydrophile PE sinter. The housing of the suction plate is manufactured from inert PP as standard, but is also available in stainless steel.
For lysimeters: lysimeter bases can be equipped with up to seven plates, depending on the size.
Advantages
- extensive removal of the soil solution
- soil solution from undisturbed soil
