UGT Irrigation System for Lab Lysimeter
We developed this system specially for the controllable irrigation of our UGT Lab Lysimeters. These are suitable for soil columns with a diameter of 150 to 300 mm and a length of 200 to 600 mm. Lysimeter experiments under laboratory conditions allow experiments to be carried out under predefined boundary conditions, often with the aim of investigating the behavior of natural soils or vegetation under special environmental conditions, as well as soil physical / hydrological properties of manually introduced soils or processes of (pollutant) substance distribution, redistribution and leaching.
How It Works
The Irrigation System for Laboratory Lysimeters consists of an acrylic irrigation head, which is attached to an aluminum profile bracket above the lysimeter vessel and is available in two sizes. An irrigation head ensures an even distribution of water over the laboratory lysimeter. The number of outlet openings and therefore the irrigation area can be reduced using silicone plugs.
Irrigation is controlled manually by the operator via the connected pump unit. This peristaltic pump with a stepper motor, digital display and speed controller, which is attached to the support stand, pumps water from a storage container into the previously manually filled irrigation head.
Variants
UGT offers the components of the irrigation system in two basic sizes: for laboratory lysimeters with a diameter of 150/200/300 mm and 400/500 mm diameters. They differ in the size of the irrigation head and thus the irrigation area and achievable irrigation rates. We are happy to create system solutions with alternative flow rates or irrigation rates on request. Articles 1790020 and 1790025 offer the system with bracket, irrigation head and pump unit and storage container. Items 1790010 and 1790015 are also complete stand-alone aluminum profile supports with adjustable feet.
